A bit about me

Rather than give you a wordy page to read, I thought I’d answer a few interview questions instead.

Q: How do you approach design challenges?
A: I use the design thinking framework to structure projects. This helps me to leverage my curiosity and empathy to gather useful data and frame the problem before starting to think of solutions. Collaboration and communication are important throughout the whole design process. Balancing user needs and business goals is also central.

Q: What’s your proudest accomplishment?
A: At Blancco, I improved the usability of several B2B SaaS products and grew the design team from one person (me) and a logo to five designers using design systems. The team had a great synergy, and I really enjoyed the opportunity to mentor and support other designers.

Q: Tell us more about you.
A: I’m originally from Cape Town, but spent nearly a decade in Cork, Ireland (and became an Irish citizen, so I can work freely in the UK). I now live in Sutton, London.

I’ve competed at the Calisthenics World Competition and was the Irish national champ. Training has taught me discipline, focus, and the importance of having a supportive team.

When I’m not designing, you’ll usually find me painting, hiking, taking photos or attempting one more pull-up.
